I listened one of the ballad of Harry Chapin: Cat's in the cradle.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion this is a very sad song. It talk about the father-son relation.
There is a father doesn't care about his child'e feelings and doesn't spend time with him, but his child was growing up day by day.
When the man realized that, it was too late.
After a long time, when the child became a man, he want to spend time with him, but his child became like him.
for me i like the old fashion of the music especially the jazz .. there is a lovely song for Louis Armstrong it called wut a wonderful world n it was about how's the life itz wonderful with the nature around us n u hafta be happy n enjoy it
ReplyDeleteI listen to Cat's in the Cradle from Harry Chapin. This song is a about a father-son relation. The father ist too bussy for his son. He did not spend time with him. After a few years he realized it. But it was too late. His son became like him. He was too bussy for his water. So it is the other way round!

ReplyDeleteThis song deals about a father, who doesn't have any time for his son,because everything is more important for him, than to spend time with his son. His son is very patient to him. But when the son gets older, the father recognize his big mistake and it is too late to return this mistake, because his son become like him. Like in his dream when he was a little child to be like the father.
I litened to Devil Went Down to Georgia by Charlie Daniels Band. It was so funny for me to listen to this song because i expected more serious song like small child escape from violental father or something like that. The story was that the devil found a very good fiddle player Johnny and try to beat him by competition of fiddle playing. As a result devil was beaten and gave him a golden fiddle. I like this happy ending and what johnny said at last. He said 'come again' to the devil. That means the devil is not the big problem for him to see. I thought it shows very good way of thinking to live a life in positive way.

ReplyDeleteThis song it's about a DJ who played songs for his wife in W.O.L.D radio station but she changed him for a better man, therefore this song doesn't have a happy ending because the DJ stay alone.
I listened one of ballad of Arlo Guthrie : "Alice's restaurant". This restaurant isn't the Alice's restaurant, it's just the name of the restaurant. Alice is a woman who lives in a church with her husband and her dog. It talks comically about a Thanksgiving day a few years ago. In fact she wants to dump her garbage but it's closed because it's Thanksgiving. So he even dumped it but in another place. He is arrested by the police and goes to the jail. Because of his arrest he can come in the vietnam army. This song protests against the Vietnam War draft. It's funny. At the end I think it's an encouragement to resist to the war.

ReplyDeleteSanta killed a lot of reindeer.He dropped a bomb to a house and burned it to make a sausage.
Then police arrested him but some reindeer are still nervous because if reindeer parole him, he will visit to them.
I think this song is crazy.Santa wears T-shirt and has a gun. It's stupid.
I listened to the "Motorcycle Song" from Arlo Guthrie. "I don't want a pickle, just wanna ride my motorcycle", this is the main sentence of the song.
ReplyDeleteI think that this song is a tribute to freedom: the singer rode his motorcycle down a mountain road doing 150 miles per hour, as playing his guitar. That was a very dangerous situation, he made a sharp turn off the road, but luckily he was over the cliff. He knew that his death was imminent, and in his last seconds he decides to write a song. "I don't wanna die, just wanna ride my motorcycle". But he didn't die, he landed on the top of a police car and rode to the town.
I think that it is an amazing song, I'd like it very much, dreaming like the singer of a free and exiting life, until our death will finally come.
I listened to the song “Puff the Magic Dragon” from Peter Paul & Mary.
ReplyDeleteThis song is that Jackie got to know with the dragon named Puff and they made friends. But Jackie has grown into adulthood. He was able to be interested in another little by little. In the end he forgot the thing of Puff.
So I think this song is so sad song.
I think this song means that there can`t be a boy like the child.
I listened to the song of" you were a good friend" by Kenny Rogers. it is really toughing to me.Beacause except family friends play the most important role in my life.I can really feel it in San Diego.I think the song is about he miss his friend who died.It is a sad story, but he will remember all of the memory about his good friend.I like this song very much I will listen more about Kenny Rogers!!
ReplyDeleteI've listened to a Peter Klimes ballad named "never meant to make you cry". It's a very sad ballad but also very beautiful and sweet. It's the story of a man who loved a woman more than is life but he had hurted her in a badly way and she don't want to see him anymore. Believe me, if you like this kind of song, you might listen to it (If you don't I suggest the song "sugar" by "Flo Rida", it's amazing).

It's so romantic, the song talks about a man who loves a lady and they had a beautiful love story together, but that story finished.He really loves her and then they get back together.He says that she is the only one that he wants.I love this song, for me this is the true love.
ReplyDeleteI listened to the Kenny Rogers song "Ruby". It deals with a guy who wants to leave to go the asian war to become an hero. But the singer gives him advice: don't go because when you come back you won't be the same as you used to be. The advisor has already been in war, he left the use of the legs and he can do nothing, loving a woman of his same age too.
ReplyDeleteI think that the moral of this ballad is: do not go looking for troubles that are not yours, and enjoy yourself with all the beautiful things you have.
I chose "Hurricane", one of the most famous songs of Bob Dylan. Sincerely, I'm not sure it is a ballad but it has got a deep meaning. "Hurricane" is a protest song, it talks about a black boxer who had been put in prison for a murder of three people that he didn't commit. In fact the killer was a white man. This is one of the numerous cases in which justice doesn't work.
ReplyDeleteI listened to "Ballads of a thin Man", a song of the genius singer, author and poet called Bob Dylan. The ballad tells about a man, Mr Jones, rejected by society and people. This man knew that something was happening to him, but he didn`t know exacly what. Maybe it could be just a feeling, a mood. Mr Jones felt like the world wasn`t his place. I think this song has no happy ending or moral; it is just the story of a feeling of a man.
